Arc Filter Files
These files are for use in
GASAK and
GPSBabel filter searches. These text files contain waypoints for interstate exits and rest areas. To use them, paste the file into the Arc/Ploy filter tab in GASK and set the filter type to Points, then specify a distance from each exit you would like waypoints to be displayed- 0.5 to 1.5 miles is usually reasonable. You can also paste more than one file at once to filter several interstates. This filters out caches between exits that would normally show up if you simply used an arc filter for the interstate. Of course, you could also use the Arc/Line filter type, but the line will not follow the road exactly since interstates rarely follow a straight line from one exit to the next.
Either format should work in GSAK, but the files specifically for Babel are tab separated and do not contain comments that indicate exit numbers.
